Thank you so much for your diverse and wonderful contributions to our highly successful Green Kordofan fundraising event on Friday 27th of April 2018, we could not have done it without the terrific local solidarity shown by all involved

Thanks to our host East Kent College for the generous hospitality in providing the space for us to gather, preparing wonderful Sudanese dishes and for the warm welcoming of all of the staff and students involved.
We really enjoyed the company of the Town Mayor, Councillor Roger West, Mayoress, Councillor Pat West and Deputy Mayor,Councillor Ann Berry, For recognizing the importance of the cause and giving their time to support us.

The event was opened by a presentation from the wonderful Kay Sharp reminding us that although we can’t change the events of the past, we can learn from them to create a brighter future.
Mayor addressed the guests and emphasized Ms Sharpe message and the audience generously responded.
We made a whopping £651.70 made up of £84 from the jewellery stall, generous cash donations and raffles ticket sales.
We aim to raise money to send off 20 bicycles as a kickstarter for our first Girls cycle project, a new initiative offering many young girls an opportunity to enjoy cycling and hopefully use their new skills to get them out and about and ease troubles of travelling a long distance every day to collect water from wells.
